The World Customs Organization to better support its members has divided the world into 6 regions:
- The Americas and the Caribbean
- Europe
- Asia Pacific
- South and East Africa
- Central and Western Africa
- Middle East and North Africa
Each region elects a Vice-chairperson from among its members.
The General Council of the WCO elects a Chairperson from among its members.
The Chairperson and all Vice-chairpersons form the Executive body of the Organization. They provide the directives and policies that the Organization must follow for better performance from the standpoint of administrative, financial and technical, which is carried out through meetings of the Policy Commission of WCO holding regular meetings twice a year to discuss governance issues and strategic organization.
